is a Gnutella file sharing program, allowing you to find
and share audio, video, images, books, software and more
on the net's coolest peer-to-peer network.
It supports the latest Gnutella Technologies, including
Swarm Downloading, Upload Queuing, Partial File Sharing,
Ultrapeers, Metadata, File Hashing, and more.The program
offers an attractive, easy to use interface with customizable
skins and modern menus and dialogs.
Shareaza once started off as a Gnutella
only community, however has diversified into other networks
with mixed results. Most notably, Shareaza initiated Gnutella2,
which caused a storm of controversy in the Gnutella community.
Since then, Shareaza has been largely ostracized by the
original Gnutella community. In addition, Shareaza also
supports eDonkey2000, BitTorrent and the original Gnutella
network.
Shareaza is now available with some cool
new features, better performance, and a sleek new theme
– but the biggest and most important change is that
it’s now offered under an open source license.
